HISTORY
The business
was established in 1961 as a retail/wholesale operation by Jack and
Armeda Gager and called White House Sales. When they sold the
business to Don Aston, to facilitate their retirement in 1980, he
chose to discontinue retail sales and concentrated on distribution
on a "wholesale only - to the trade" business plan. From 1980
through 2003, White House Sales operated as a separate entity from
Don's other related businesses in Northern California which were
operated as Chem Quip, Inc. In 2004, White House Sales purchased
the operating assets of Chem Quip's Sacramento, Hayward and Fresno
operations and integrated its personnel and facilities under one
umbrella. It also adopted Chem Quip, Inc. as its name.
CUSTOMERS
There are two
classes of accounts: Wholesale accounts, 1400+, consisting of pool
builders and their sub-contractors, servicemen, and retail stores;
Institutional accounts, 600+, consisting of large swim facilities
both privately owned and municipal, beverage bottlers, food
processors, and, small water and sewage treatment facilities. The
area serviced is Northern California, Southern Oregon and
Northwestern Nevada. Deliveries are made with company owned
vehicles by company employees.
